De asemenea, lichidul amniotic are un rol important in nutritia si cresterea fatului. El protejeaza fatul de traume mecanice si se comporta ca o „perna&#8221; lichida si moale care se afla in jurul lui. Lichidul amniotic se formeaza pe doua cai: materna si fetala. La inceputul sarcinii, cand embrionul este foarte mic, este produs printr-o secretie activa (o secretie care necesita energie). Ulterior se produce din ultrafiltrarea prin pielea fetala, astfel ca dupa luna 5 de sarcina producerea lui sa fie in principal din urina fetala si secretia pulmonara fetala. Fatul nu este indispensabil pentru producerea lichidului amniotic, acesta aparand si in cazul unui ou clar. Ceea ce este sigur este faptul ca exista un schimb prin membrane fara modificarea cantitatii de lichid. Pana in luna a 4-a, lichidul amniotic se aseamana cu o extensie a spatiului fetal extracelular, secretia sa realizandu-se prin ultrafiltrarea plasmei fetale. Compozitia sa se modifica in a doua jumatate a sarcinii, prin pierderea permeabilitatii pielii fatului si cresterea functiei organelor acestuia in uter. Lichidul amniotic este steril, pentru ca membrana amniotica il separa de mediul extern si, din acest motiv, are si rolul de a proteja bebelusul impotriva actiunii germenilor patogeni din afara si termic pentru variatiile de temperatura, prevenind aparitia infectiilor. In acelasi timp, faptul ca este lichid permite fatului sa se miste mai usor, prin reducerea fortei gravitationale. Are si rol nutritiv pentru micutul care il bea, furnizandu-i acestuia apa si alte substante nutritive. Se pare ca are si alte functii de natura metabolica si imunologica, dar care inca nu au fost cercetate suficient.</p>

In urma cercetarilor s-a ajuns la concluzia ca, in timpul sarcinii, se creeaza un &#8220;rezervor de hormoni&#8221; care produc schimbari permanente in creierul mamei. Acesti hormoni maresc capacitatea emisferei cerebrale care controleaza invatarea si memoria femeilor si imbunatatesc considerabil abilitatile lor de comunicare si gandire. Totodata, femeile insarcinate au o acuitate vizuala mai buna, instinctele sunt mai puternice, isi indeplinesc sarcinile mai bine decat celelalte femei si au o coordonare si memorie imbunatatite. Testele de laborator facute pe soareci au aratat ca activitatea cerebrala a femelelor gestante s-a dublat, iar acestea au devenit mai inteligente, mai curioase si mai energice. Ele au reusit sa treaca testul de gasire a iesirii dintr-un labirint mult mai repede, sa faca mai putine greseli si sa retina noile cunostinte mult mai repede. Iata inca un motiv in plus pentru femei sa dea viata unui prunc&#8230;</p>

Femeile ce nu au o alimentatie echilibrata, au de obicei un deficit de magneziu ce poate avea consecinte negative pentru evolutia sarcinii. Verdeturile, ca de exemplu spanacul, broccoli sau varza sunt o sursa buna de magneziu, la fel nucile, semintele si unele cereale. Chiar daca magneziul este in compozitia multor alimente, se intalneste in general in cantitati mici. Conform parerii multor nutritionisti, necesarul zilnic de magneziu nu poate fi asimilat dintr-un singur fel de mancare. Prin consumarea unei mari varietati de alimente, incluzand cinci feluri de fructe si legume zilnic si multe cereale, se poate asigura doza adecvata de magneziu. Magneziul poate fi suplimentat si pe cale artificiala, cu ajutorul produselor care se gasesc in farmacii, unele chiar special concepute pentru femeile insarcinate, care, pe langa magneziu contin si vitamina B6 sau zinc.</p>

Imediat dupa nastere stimularea anumitor puncte permite facilitarea desprinderii placentei. Sedintele de acupunctura pot fi propuse si dupa nastere, pentru ca mama sa-si recapete forma sau pentru a o ajuta sa lupte impotriva eventualelor dureri lombare sau a depresiei post-partum. Cand mergi pentru prima oara la un acupunctor fii pregatita sa raspunzi unui chestionar detaliat. Acesta ii va ajuta pe acupunctori sa afle cat mai multe informatii despre stilul tau de viata, starea emotionala care te caracterizeaza in aceasta perioada, influenta mediului inconjurator si a alimentelor asupra sanatatii etc. Durata unei sedinte de acupunctura variaza intre 15 si 45 de minute iar numarul de sedinte este stabilit in functie de sarcina si daca sunt sau nu complicatii. Acele de acupunctura care se folosesc trebuie sa fie, desigur, de unica folosinta.</p>

Dintre complicatiile care pot aparea in cazul unei sarcini multiple pot fi amintite: 1. Nasterea prematura Femeile insarcinate cu gemeni, tripleti, de regula intra in travaliu prematur (cum este definit, de regula, inainte de 37 de saptamani) mult mai des decat femeile insarcinate cu un singur fat. 2. Pre-eclampsia Este o complicatie de doua ori mai intalnita la femeile cu sarcini multiple si mult mai severa decat la femeile insarcinate cu un singur fat. 3. Desprinderea placentei 4. Stoparea dezvoltarii fetusului Aceasta complicatie se manifesta atunci cand unul dintre gemeni sau ambii nu se dezvolta asa cum ar trebui in mod normal. Acest lucru face ca fatul sa se nasca prematur sau sa se nasca la termen, dar cu o greutate foarte scazuta. Mai mult de jumatate din numarul sarcinilor multiple pot manifesta o asemenea complicatie.</p>

Insa acesti pasi sunt cu atat mai importanti pentru o femeile ce poarta o sarcina multipla. Femeile care au gemeni in burtica trebuie sa urmeze o dieta foarte stricta. Este important sa acumuleze un numar suficient de proteine si sa aiba o buna hidratare, la fel de importanta fiind si acumularea caloriilor suplimentare pentru fiecare dintre fetusi. Una dintre reguli stipuleaza obligativitatea consumarii a unei cantitatii de 300 calorii suplimentare pentru fiecare dintre copiii prezenti intr-o sarcina multipla. Femeile cu o sarcina multipla experimenteaza disconfortul datorat graviditatii mult mai intens. De asemenea, femeile ce poarta sarcini multiple ar trebui sa ceara sfaturile unor medici specializati in sarcinile multiple. Ingrijirile de specialitate garanteaza faptul ca atat mama cat si copiii se bucura de cea mai competenta atentie.</p>

Ei bine, din luna a IV-a placenta este cea care asigura fatului in totalitate nutritia.<br />
Ce este placenta? Este o formatiune rotunda, avand grosimea de 2-3 cm, strabatuta de un sistem vascular foarte complex, care se implanteaza ca niste radacini adanci si bine fixate in mucoasa uterului. Sangele arterial al mamei trece din mucoasa uterului in aceste radacini si de aici in capilarele placentei. Nu exista nicio legatura directa intre sangele mamei si cel al copilului. Metabolismul se realizeaza prin intermediul placentei.<br />
Vasele capilare (de calibru foarte mic) din radacinile placentei se unesc in vase din ce in ce mai mari, pana ce realizeaza vena ombilicala. Sangele consumat se aduna in cele doua artere ombilicale si de aici in placenta, unde se incarca din nou cu substante nutritive si cu oxigen pe care le aduce fatului in dezvoltare.<br />
Produsele reziduale care se formeaza in timpul constructiei noului organism sunt eliminate prin placenta (prin peretii radacinilor acesteia) in sangele venos al mamei. Acesta il elimina prin scaun, urina si transpiratie. Mama va elimina deci in afara de propriile sale produse reziduale si pe cele ale fatului. Va dati seama deci cat de solicitate sunt organele de excretie (rinichii si organele urinare) ale viitoarei mame…</p>

Somnul de dupa amiaza, de 1—2 ore, este si el binevenit pentru refacerea fortelor.<br />
Urmareste daca nu cumva nevoia excesiva de somn este cauzata de vreo boala sau pur si simplu de lipsa aerului curat. In caz ca prezinti o tendinta spre ingrasare, abtine-te de la somnul de dupa-amiaza. Nu te culca imediat dupa ce ai mancat, ci mai bine fa o scurta plimbare.  Executa exercitii de respiratie in fata geamului deschis.<br />
Multe gravide — in special cele aflate in ultimele luni de sarcina — sufera de insomnii. Se recomanda un dus seara, inainte de culcare, o baie calda  de picioare,  un pahar de lapte rece. In nici un caz nu  recurge  la   medicamente    (somnifere)    fara    avizul    medicului!<br />
In ultimele doua luni de sarcina, gravida nu poate sta prea mult in picioare. Esti obosita? Aseaza-te si intinde-ti picioarele pe un scaun alaturat. Vei evita astfel aparitia varicelor si umflarea picioarelor. Nevoia de somn si odihna trebuie deci satisfacuta, dar nu lenea si inactivitatea. Nu le confunda!</p>

-    Unele mamici foarte atente isi simt copilul miscandu-se incepand cu a 15-a saptamana de sarcina<br />
-    - Mamele mai slabute isi pot simti copilul mai devreme.<br />
Pe la 4 luni si jumatate (incepand cu saptamana 15-a de sarcina) incepi sa-i simti miscarile. La inceput, aceasta miscare este abia sesizabila. O vei simti mai curand in pat, inainte de a adormi.<br />
A fost asemanata cu bataile aripilor unui fluture tinut in mana sau cu atingerea usoara a unei labute de pisica. Alta data poate fi confundata cu miscarile intestinului. Treptat miscarile devin mai intense (dupa 4 luni jumate). Copilul &#8220;loveste&#8221; uneori atat de violent, incat va poate tulbura somnul sau chiar te poate trezi din somn. Daca esti la a doua sarcina, aceste miscari apar mai devreme, deoarece mama avertizata le asteapta. Inregistreaza data primei miscari. Vei fi intrebata la controalele prenatale. Daca miscarile fatului inceteaza, anunta urgent medicul.</p>

-  Evita pe cat posibil efectuarea de radiografii; atrage atentia ca esti gravida cand ti se recomanda o radiografie.<br />
-  Atrage atentia dentistului ca esti gravida daca ai nevoie de anestezie locala.<br />
-  Evita camerele in care exista emanatii toxice de la vopsea sau alte produse.<br />
-  Sistemul tau imunitar este mai putin eficient in timpul sarcinii, de aceea evita infectiile.<br />
-  Testeaza-ti imunitatea la rubeola si toxoplasmoza.<br />
-  Daca ai o eruptie pe piele sau orice alt semn de boala infectioasa, mergi imediat la medic. Nu intra in contact cu cazuri de rubeola sau varicela.<br />
-  Evita contactul cu animalele mai ales in cazurile cand exista pericol de infectie.<br />
- Fii foarte atenta cu igiena alimentelor. Spala cu atentie fructele si legumele pe care le consumi.</p>

Identificarea din timp a bolilor de tiroida la mame va avea implicatii majore asupra sanatatii femeilor si copiilor, conform unui studiu. Studiul, coordonat de dr. Eliska Potlukova de la Universitatea Carol din Praga, se bazeaza pe evolutia starii de sanatate a 200 de femei, atat in perioada sarcinii, cat si dupa nastere. Aproximativ jumatate dintre acestea nu prezentau niciun simptom de imbolnavire a tiroidei, insa in urma unei analize de sange s-a stabilit ca ar putea suferi de astfel de probleme in viitorul apropiat. O treime dintre aceste femei au inceput sa sufere din cauza tiroidei intr-un interval de timp de pana la doi ani dupa nastere. Conform dr. Potlukova, zeci de mii de femei gravide din Europa ar putea suferi de afectiuni ale tiroidei dupa nastere, iar detectarea lor din timp va elimina orice implicatii majore asupra vietii lor si a copiilor. &#8220;Fiecare tanara femeie ar trebui sa se asigure ca glanda tiroida ii functioneaza bine, inainte de a ramane gravida&#8221;, a mai adaugat ea. In prezent, medicii recomanda analize de tiroida doar pentru viitoarele mame care provin din familii in care au existat probleme de acest gen.</p>

In cadrul studiului efectuat pe 450 femei &#8211; inclusiv 155 care au dat nastere unor copii decedati -, a aratat faptul ca mamele care dormeau pe partea stanga aveau o rata de 1,96 la 1.000 de a trece prin astfel de tragedii. Numarul crestea insa la 3,93 procente dintr-o mie la cele care adoptau alte pozitii, fiind putin mai crescut la cele care se odihneau pe spate. Cercetatorii sugereaza ca restrictionarea circuitului sanguin catre copil poate fi principalul motiv. Cand dormi pe partea dreapta, ingreunezi circulatia celor mai multe vene ale picioarelor si inimii, ceea ce afecteaza si pantecul.</p>

Mai mult, mamicile care iau multe kilograme in plus in timpul sarcinii risca sa sufere, mai tarziu, si de alte probleme de sanatate, precum hipertensiune arteriala. Noul studiu, realizat de oamenii de stiinta de la Universitatea Bristol, vine sa intareasca rezultatele altor studii similare: surplusul de greutate in timpul sarcinii are efecte negative. Chiar daca e normal ca femeile sa ia in greutate in timpul sarcinii, oamenii de stiinta subliniaza ca ingrasarea excesiva are efecte daunatoare si asupra fatului, nu doar a mamei. Cercetatorii recomanda ca in primele sase luni de sarcina, cele 1.940 de calorii necesare pe zi unei femei sa nu se schimbe, deci un surplus de alimente nu este necesar. In urmatoarea perioada, femeia are nevoie de doar 200 de calorii in plus, echivalentul unui iaurt.</p>

… placenta are si o functie de protectie, actionand ca un adevarat filtru intre mama si copil, nepermitand anumitor toxine si infectii periculoase sa ajunga la bebelus? Exista insa substante si infectii care o pot traversa, ajungand astfel la fat si anume nicotina, alcoolul, majoritatea medicamentelor, anumiti virusi (rubeolic, HIV etc), toxoplasmoza si altele.<br />
… fluxul de sange matern care circula prin placenta este de 300 mililitri pe minut in a 20-a saptamana de sarcina?<br />
… placenta se comporta ca o adevarata glanda, secretand anumiti hormoni indispensabili pentru mentinerea si evolutia normala a sarcinii? Din luna a patra acesti hormoni vor prelua rolul hormonilor ovarieni.</p>

Este indicat ca femeia insarcinata sa se cantareasca de doua ori pe saptamana, tocmai pentru a se asigura ca nu depaseste limitele normale de ingrasare si a lua masuri in caz ca acest lucru s-a intamplat. In primele trei luni ar trebui sa aiba loc o crestere in greutate cu 500-600 de grame pe luna. Cresterea cea mai rapida se va produce in al doilea trimestru  &#8211; circa 800-1200 grame pe luna, astfel ca in luna a sasea gravida ar trebui sa aiba cam 6 kg in plus. De la 6 luni inainte n-ar trebui sa se ingrase cu mai mult de 500 de grame pe saptamana.  Cresterea totala in greutate pe parcursul sarcinii trebuie sa fie cuprinsa intre 10 si 12 kg.</p>
